A Chicago landlord has been ordered to pay more than $6,000 in rent and repairs after he allegedly gave false information to tenants who complained about mold in his apartment.
Lawyer Dan O’Leary said his client, Paul O’Keefe, of Chicago, told his tenants he did not have any mold in the building, which he said was not the case.
O’Keefe told the Tribune he has been working on a legal defense to the eviction, which took place in May.
O’Reilly told the newspaper he was “very happy” with the decision.
A judge will determine O’Roys damages on Thursday, the newspaper reported.
