One of the more interesting developments in Columbus recently got its second-biggest apartment building to the city.
The Columbus Circle Apartments is a two-story, 60,000-square-foot, eight-bedroom apartment building located on a corner of Columbia Avenue and Central Avenue.
The building was completed in August and the company is currently seeking applications to move forward with a $250 million project to build a new four-story building at the site.
The apartment building will have approximately 50,000 square feet of floor space and the majority of that space will be occupied by two apartment units.
The project is part of the larger Columbia Square Apartments redevelopment plan that also includes a two block mixed-use project that will include restaurants, cafes, retail, and a hotel.
Columbia Avenue is a commercial strip that stretches from the Ohio River all the way to the Ohio and Indiana state lines.
The area has a long history as a commercial area and was known for its bars and shops.
The Columbia Avenue area also served as the site of the first streetcar line.
Columbias newest project is the first of its kind in the United States.
The project was completed with $20 million in private financing from Capital One Bank and Columbus Downtown Development Corporation.
Columbus Circle Apartings project is set to be complete by the end of 2020 and the apartment building is expected to be completed by 2021.
