By Sarah Brown, BBC South West correspondentA town where you’re supposed to be at home?
It’s the scene of the epic Battle of Somersets and the biggest clash of British and German armies in the First World War.
So why do you think you’re never heard of it?
The town was founded in the 1540s by a group of Anglo-Saxon merchants who were desperate to get a foothold in the vast German frontier.
It was not long before Somersett was named for the town on the Somme peninsula, which is today where the Battle of the Sommerfield took place.
So what made it so special?
A town that’s never been settledThere’s a lot of confusion around Somersetts origins.
It’s claimed to have been the home of a large number of people who were displaced in the War of the Spanish Succession (1819-1832), the battle in which the Sommers set off to invade France.
But historians and historians of the time said the town had nothing to do with that conflict.
So how did Somersettes name come about?
In the 1530s, the German King Ferdinand the First moved the town of Sommer to the border of modern-day Germany.
In 1542, the town was officially named for him and, after a series of changes in the names of the towns that had been given to it, in 1558 the name was changed to Sommer.
In the early 1600s, an English missionary named George William Wood (1624-1679) established a mission in the town and brought about a renaissance in the area, with churches and shops, including the Somersetter Museum.
The town’s name was then changed to ‘the town where the Sommes and Sommermes meet’.
In 1708, a Dutch captain named William van Dyck sailed from Holland on a search for a home in Sommer, the name meaning ‘southern spot’.
He was never heard from again.
But his son was able to discover the location by tracking the sound waves through the sea.
He discovered a small town, the Somverset, and in 1698, it was renamed Sommerset.
This was in the 17th century and there was a long history of German influence in Somersette, and the townspeople would always have been aware of this.
When it came to naming the town after William van Diemen, the Englishman who sailed to the Somerlands to claim the area in 1696, the city was renamed after the first German general who came to the area.
And it was only in 1838 that the town name was updated to Sommersetter.
What are the main characteristics of Sommersett?
There are two main towns in Sommersetts, one is the town centre and the other is the village.
It has a very large area.
There are two churches, a Methodist church and a Baptist church.
There’s a small park and a museum, as well as a small zoo and a cafe.
There is a lot to do in the village and a lot that can be done by the locals.
What do people tell you about the town?
There is a town hall, a library, a cafe, a pub, a museum and a small church.
They’re the most famous buildings in the city, so it’s very popular with the tourists.
There also is a theatre, a theatre with a full orchestra and a theatre choir.
What are some of the main attractions in the neighbourhood?
The main attractions are the museums, the theatre and the cafe.
The cinema is one of the few theatres in Somberset and the main attraction is the Somnerset Opera House.
What is it like to live here?
It’s very beautiful.
The town has been completely transformed over the past 100 years.
The whole town has a nice old charm, and everything has been rebuilt and modernised.
What can you do if you’re looking for accommodation?
There’s very limited accommodation in Someretts.
The closest accommodation is a four-bedroom apartment in the small village village.
There was an old cottage built in the late 19th century, but it was destroyed in a fire in the 1920s.
There used to be a four bedroom apartment in Somermanset, but that’s not very convenient to live.
But the Somberts are still quite accessible, so there’s plenty of places to stay.
What do you do when you get to Somerseting?
It can be quite a bit of a shock when you arrive at the Somerville station and you realise that the main train station is not open.
There may be people sitting in the carriage waiting for the train, and there may be someone sitting in a wheelchair.
They may even be trying to open the doors and trying to get out.
It is a very busy time, but there’s also a nice village café, a supermarket and a church.
