Dublin residents are in for a surprise when they step foot in the Westwoods apartment complex in west Dublin’s west.
A number of new properties are due to be built on the site, including an apartment block and an office block.
The site also houses the Westend Mall, the former site of the city’s first major shopping centre.
Dublin City Council says it has spent a record €3.3 million on the development, which has the potential to create 200 jobs.
Dublins West End will be home to a hotel, a cinema and a hotelier’s club.
The city’s council has committed to spending €500 million to help develop the area.
Dubs City Council has said the redevelopment of the West End Mall will help bring in a further 400 jobs, while a new shopping centre and the Westside Mall are on the table.
